Fishing Report Week Ending September 10, 2025.

We have spent some of our fishing time on shorelines in the intracoastal, finding trout, redfish, black drum, and flounder around structures with good tidal movement. We have also seen good numbers of trout (but weeding through quite a few small ones to find the better fish) on mid-bay reefs, as well as over shoreline shell.

The water has looked very good this week in the majority of the East Bay. This week, we were able to fish shoreline shell, off-shore reefs, and grass lines in the marsh. Depending upon the day/tide/weather, all were able to produce some exceptional results for our anglers, so take your pick on the kind of fishing areas you prefer to fish.

Surface water temperature is 85 degrees. The water clarity is average for East Galveston Bay. This week, we shifted our focus towards redfish in the shallows, and they did not disappoint with great catches over the last week. Active bait in the area is important, so if you don't see bait or signs of life, don't spend a whole lot of time in the area.

Surface Temp 86 degrees. This week, we have spent more time in the intracoastal finding trout, reds, and flounder, around structure, as well as a few fish over structure on the South Shoreline, closer to deeper drops on tails with 1/8 oz heads.

The water clarity is improving slightly for the majority of East Galveston Bay, with clearer / saltier water as you get over by the Yacht Basin, and especially as you venture over towards Galveston. We are spending more time locating trout, reds, and flounder in the intracoastal relating to structure, in areas closer to deep water.

Colors varied, depending upon water clarity and light conditions, with Glacier Freeze triggering the most bites for our anglers. Our clients are still finding good success using Fish Smack Popping corks with a 1-to-2-foot leader above a shrimp imitation lure, or Tails with a 1/8 oz jig head, with a hard pop and a 3-second pause, gathering the most strikes.

We are locating more trout beds, in the intracoastal, relating to structure, as well as a few fish over shell on the South Shoreline on tails with 1/8 oz heads, with darker colors performing the best in the areas with stained water. We are once again burning a good deal of fuel and time taking the ride over to the Jetties to find better-looking water and a solid trout bite on artificials.

This past week we have burned a good deal of gas and time taking the 40-minute ride over to the Jettys to finding a solid am trout bite. We are utilizing Mirror Lure suspending hard baits, Swim Baits, and Tails with 1/8 oz heads in light colors.

Surface water temperature is 86.2 degrees in East Galveston Bay. We are still weeding through a number of undersized Trout to find the better fish, as in previous weeks, but our last few trips have resulted in some solid upper slot females. Colors varied, depending upon water clarity and light conditions, with Rollover Moon getting the most bites for our anglers.

Surface water temperature has reached 85 degrees in East Galveston Bay, creating ideal conditions for catching Specks around protected shorelines, over scattered shell, as well as Redfish along grasslines. 1/8 oz jig heads and light color paddle-tailed lures are proving highly effective on our trips.
