With an early morning drive through Crystal Beach, Texas, and down Bolivar Peninsula. Bayside has extensive flooding again with high tide but as you can see as we drive back towards Crystal Beach, Texas, Hwy 87 is clear for those needing to head towards Winnie or back to Bolivar Peninsula.

Tropical Storm Beta hammers Bolivar Peninsula Beachfront and raising tides flood bayside of Bolivar Peninsula and Crystal Beach, Texas. We're starting at Hwy87 and 124 and will work our way down the Bolivar Peninsula starting at Rollover Pass.

Believe it or not, we're seeing some Blue Skies as we head down Hwy 87 towards High Island. Rain bands are covering the west end of Crystal Beach to Port Bolivar, Texas. Many have ask about Rollover Pass, We're here now and it looks like Tropical Storm Beta has started trying to reopen the pass starting at the dunes on the beachside and flooding it on the bayside. I've spent the afternoon driving around Bolivar Peninsula. Wind, Rain and High Tides is what we have and will have an increase of all 3 by tomorrow morning looking at the forecast. We're heading down Hwy 87 to High Island now to check out the Hwy 87/124 interchange and will be back tomorrow morning early at High Tide also.

Despite the distance to Tropical Storm Beta elevated tides are already showing up on Bolivar Peninsula during High Tide today. Watch as the Bolivar LIVE Truck makes it way down Hwy 87 to Hwy 124.

The latest update shows the projected path for Tropical Storm Beta to the north but we're not out of the woods yet as Galveston County called for a voluntary evacuation for Bolivar Peninsula. My first thought or the move to the north reminds me of Harvey's path. It's still not clear where Beta will go but projections now show a Cat 1 at landfall down the coast and a Tropical Storm.

It's sunny skies in paradise in Crystal Beach, Texas but we'll start seeing a change late this afternoon or Sunday morning according to forecasters. Now's the time to plan if you need to leave. Voluntary Evacuation may be called for Bolivar Peninsula at some point today, it's a sit and wait game, 10am update could be a game-changer.

Tropical Storm Beta has now formed in the Gulf, with a large cone of uncertainty it could be a long week ahead. One thing for sure, Bolivar LIVE will keep you up to date as we move forward into next week.

We'll I was hoping our days of checking the Tropical Up-Dates were done for this year but, it's not over yet. Tropical Depression 22 has formed as of yesterday and is predicted to hit Hurricane status today or by week's end. But where it's going.
