Nature has already started building back the dunes after Hurricane Laura washed up to half of it away and in some places washed through the dunes. With a little wind and dry sand, the rebuilding process has begun. Nature has a great way of taking care of its self.

With Labor Day Weekend right around the corner, businesses are getting ready to open back up after closing for what could have been a hit from Hurricane Laura. Some businesses will be opening today and then more follow tomorrow. Here's your beachfront view with an elevated tide to get your Friday going!

Everyone about now needs a beachfront view, with a little tide we did lose a little of the dune fronts but the vegetation did it's job and has even covered the area washed out which will help catch blowing sand and build the dune back.

My phone has been ringing since I left Austin early this morning, it was a relief when I rolled out of bed at 4am and saw the cams up and as the twilight hit I could see the beach and bay. Crystal Beach, Texas has seen its share of storms over the years. Today many started moving and leaving ahead of what could be a major Storm Surge and Wind problem, Hurricane Laura.
